A private and difficult decision to be made between a woman, her family and doctor. Others should not interfere and impose their religious beliefs about abortion. Abortion should not be a substitute for access to birth control.
California provides food for the world. Let's keep our farmers safe and healthy and make real plans to reduce water waste to keep our farms going. In California, University of California provides up to date information on farming.
Keeping animals on our farms, in our zoos and in our homes safe and healthy is a priority. Reducing meat consumption will help keep our planet healthier.
Fists or Guns? Research may be the answer.
My introduction to private recreational aviation started when I was in grade school. My family made trips to the Kansas City Municipal Airport where my father learned to fly. My husband is a recreational pilot as is my brother-in-law as well as many friends and family members. We are fortunate to have the freedom to have recreational aviation in the United States.
I believe in additional oversight of the banking sector. I think fees charged for securing money in a bank account serves as a deterrent to having a savings account. I also believe that some of the interest rates charged for credit cards are not fair to individuals who may have to resort to using a credit card in times of crisis.
I live next to the Mexican Border of Tijuana, Otay Mesa and Tecate as well as San Ysidro. I enjoy trips to Mexico with my family and I purchase Mexican car insurance on my car. We are screened as we cross into Mexico. On the return, we have to be screened by Border Patrol Officers who make small talk to make sure we are who the ID says we are. I believe that the legal border entrances with Visas for visitors should be the only way to cross into another country.

The dream is to curb expenditures and to create elections that are supported by votes. Check out www.FEC.gov to see how much candidates are spending and who is donating.
California has a voluntary $2000 limit on campaign expenditures. The expectation is that one can run for office and spend less than $2000 to get elected. In return for this promise, the election office promises to include your 250 word bio in the state voter information guide.
Like public high school education, I believe that a high-quality public college education should be free for students. This will ensure that we have the best chance at solving our problems. I work and teach at a public university.
We need to increase our ability to communicate with each other freely, securely and safely. Broadband Internet and wireless internet are not freely available in many of our communities. In many parts of the world wireless Internet is available free of charge in public places. Our goal should be to provide safe and secure methods of communication which are up to date. Much of our education relies on free and robust secure internet.
I don't have any expertise in this area and will work with others to help reduce crime. For more on incarceration please click below.
The dollar is now very strong and remains the currency trusted as much as gold because our promise to anyone who is paid with the dollar is true. People trust the dollar because they trust the American people. They trust our word, our work ethic and our promise that the dollar will hold its value.
Cybersecurity is just as important as our military security. I believe cyber security should be funded just as well as our military. In our modern society nobody is safe unless our virtual and internet transactions and communications are secure. Any breach in cyber communication results in much lost revenue. A prime example is when a medical system gets hacked. This makes everyone who has been hacked vulnerable.
I believe that absentee ballots as well as treating Election Day as a special day by making it a half-holiday would provide more opportunities for many to participate in the voting process.
For this age group I would like to see higher teacher salaries, more physical activity for the children, nutritious and well balanced meals and reliable after school care. Early intervention to prevent obesity is best at this age.
I believe that by providing preventative health care to everybody at low cost, or at no cost, we create less strain on society and ensure a healthier population. Much of our healthcare expenditures are in the last week or two of life when a loved one is in the ICU and the family is asked to make a difficult decision. Many of the decisions for the end of life need to be made much before that time arrives, and we have to be more conversant and attuned to advanced directives about our preferences for end of life care.
Women earn less than men for doing the same work. On average in the United States, women earn 77 cents for every dollar that men earn for doing the same work. Although it is illegal for women to be paid less for the same work (we passed The Equal Pay Act in 1963) this continues to this day.
Many children are in unsafe, unsanitary and unhealthy homes for a variety of reasons. Foster care provides a safe environment. Much more needs to be done to help children who are in foster care reach their full potential. And help for the imminently homeless will help keep struggling families together and avoid the need for foster care in many situations.
We are currently at a tipping point where we may need to make some drastic life choices over the next decade or two. Much of this necessary transformation will be in the form of rapid transition from fossil fuels to more renewable energy and reducing our consumption of energy, with a view to sustaining and helping future generations.
Because education after college involves paying tuition, it is unattainable for many. I believe graduate education should be affordable for all and would support free graduate education with paid expenses at universities.
If everyone is insured and has easy access to see the doctor, we will have less national health expenses and we will be able to prevent illness. Universal health insurance is the first step. Training more doctors is another important step.
Unlocking the potential for every high shcool student.
We take our safety in the United States for granted. We enjoy safety, security and privacy and much of that is because of the sacrifices made by our law enforcement officers. With better training and funding, we can provide safe policing for all of our communities. We can work towards decreasing police brutality while increaseing safety.

One hundred United States Senators determine how 400 billion dollars of taxpayer funds are spent every 4 weeks. Since the Supreme Court ruling Citizens United versus the Federal Election Commission, unlimited funds can be used by special interests and corporations to fund campaigns.
Millions of dollars are spent by special interest groups who then benefit from the billions of dollars of taxpayer funds that are later directed by Senators who they helped elect.
You may check funding for the candidates at the Federal Election Commission website.
